Learn how to setup your Loyalty Points program so customers can start earning points & rewards

Introduction

The points program is a key part of any great customer loyalty program. It's a proven way to reward customers for their loyalty and incentivize them to remain loyal to your brand.

Why Implement a Points Program?

A points program serves as a powerful tool for enhancing customer retention and boosting your store's revenue. By providing rewards and incentives, you create an enriched customer experience while simultaneously developing a robust community of loyal customers.

Setting up the Loyalty Wizard Points Program

The Points Program allows customers to earn points in your store which they can then redeem against rewards you have defined. Customers earn points through a variety of actions, such as placing orders, following you on social media, leaving product reviews, etc. When they have accumulated enough points, customers can redeem these points for rewards & discounts that they can apply on future orders.

Points Program Status

This toggle switch at the top of the page turns the program ON or OFF. Customers will not be able to access the features of the program or redeem any of its associated rewards if this switch is toggled off.


Earning Points - Earning Rules

These are the actions through which your customers earn points. We've added two defaults to start you off - however these can be disabled if you wish by clicking the toggle button. The default rewards are:

  • Place an Order - Earn points by placing an order. This can be set as a fixed amount or in increments e.g. 1 point per $1. The currency adapts to your store currency.

  • Sign up - Earn a one-time, fixed amount of points by becoming a member of the Loyalty Program.

You can also add other ways to earn, such as following your socials, leaving a product review, or sharing a product on social media. Each earning rule is fully customisable.

Redeeming Points - Rewards

These are the rewards that customers receive by redeeming their points. You can add as many Rewards as you like from the options available - currently we support 5 reward types outlined below

Online Store

  • Amount Discount - A fixed amount off the entire order

  • Percentage Off - A percentage amount off the entire order

  • Free Shipping - Free Shipping off the entire order

  • Free Product - A full-price discount usable on a specific product

  • Specific Product Discount - A discount valid only against specific products on the store


Points Expiry

Expiring points are a good way to encourage urgency to spend with your store & redeem earned points for rewards.

We currently support two expiry methods:

  1. Days until redeemable points expire - Points will expire X amount of days after they are earnt (approved)

  2. Annual Points Reset - This resets all active loyalty points to 0 on the 1st January, this does not impact lifetime points and will not reset VIP tiers.
